Cycled in and out of work today, was interested to see the difference with the 12 climbs from hell coming home.
Got to work and to my utter horror, I realised I had left my wallet in the house. No food! All I had was some tangerines and an energy gel!
Ride in was not too bad.
Ride home was a different matter. Knowing I had at max 30g of Glycogen in my system I knew I would not be able to put the power down hard. Saw it in my figures, I am normally above 200W when peddling but was 150W, there was just nothing in the legs.
Got home and found I had set my fastest time. I really can't work out how. Was about 40 seconds down in the climbs which is not too bad at all but still improved on my best time. I am astonished.
Still feeling crap but cycled to and from Choir tonight. Interestingly was 2 minutes faster coming back. Given it is uphill, it seems to show I am getting better at climbing again
Have several rides planned this week, hoping to do a in and out of work, have a 20 mile run for charity on Friday, 40 Miles on Sat and to and from Chess Club on Thursday. If all goes to plan will do 100 miles this week. Plan...
Went on site twice a couple of weeks ago. Ended up testing positive for covid. Last two weeks have been a complete disaster from a cycling point of view due to being very unwell
Tried to get back on it this week. I was doing the photography for the dance shows so used two of them to get back into it
Can't do my usual Friday route to fat club as the bottom road is closed. Tried this route this week. Was my usual Friday. Was really shocked to find I had lost 1/2 pound!
Saturday I was on the trainer, decided to do a run in Amsterdam
Sunday, for the first time since November, was went out with Karen. Given how I felt, I was astonished to see how well I could climb hills, I even went up the pain cave in the fastest time so far.
Summary for the week. 63.4 miles ridden in 5 hours 10 minutes and 3,261 feet climbed. 1/2 pound off. Overall a good week
Been a while since I last wrote something. Cycling has been good. Really got back into it with a vengeance. Yesterday, decided on a whim ...
